Level 3: Working with Aspirational Goals in CGT

In this half-day workshop, we will explore aspects of work with Aspirational goals, the main restoration-focused procedure in CGT. We will review the rationale and importance of this treatment component and discuss how it is used throughout the treatment. We will focus on optimizing implementation of the aspirational goals component and troubleshooting for common problems. Participants will be encouraged to explore new ways of being creative in Aspirational Goals work with their CG clients. Along with powerpoint presentations, role plays, group discussions, and experiential exercises will all be utilized to enhance participants’ learning.

Prerequisite Requirements

  • Licensed Mental Health Professional
  • Completion of a Level 2 Workshop or its equivalent

Registration Fee: $150.00

Registration to this event is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. The registration deadline is Friday, May 18th at 12 noon EST. Please note that registration will be closed once all of our slots our filled, which may be in advance of this deadline. All registration sales are online only, no exceptions.

This program is approved for 3 continuing education contact hours by:

  • New York State Education Department State Board for Social Work (provider #0021)

NJ Social Workers: The NJ State Board of Social Work Examiners has approved programs at CSWE accredited institutions as a source of continuing education hours. Columbia School of Social Work is a CSWE accredited institution.

Refund/Cancellation Policies

Please email the Center immediately at training@complicatedgrief.columbia.edu if you are unable to attend. Registration fees can be refunded if cancellation is made at least 5 business days prior to the workshop (cancellation must be made by Friday, May 12th). If cancellation is not made within 5 business days, we cannot guarantee that registration can be transferred to another workshop.
