Level 1: Help people live with loss
March 17 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Mission Hospice is proud to again offer a day-long workshop with Columbia University’s Dr. Katherine Shear, founder of The Center for Complicated Grief.
Complicated grief is a debilitating and often misdiagnosed, and misunderstood condition. This training will focus on how to identify and evaluate people with complicated grief, how to understand what they are experiencing, and how to facilitate natural processes of adaptation to loss. Dr. Shear will introduce the principles and procedures in complicated grief treatment.
A Level 2 workshop (Nov. 17-18, 2018) with Dr. Shear will cover using evidence-based treatment to help those who are suffering.
This workshop is aimed at professionals and graduate students working with those who are grieving – Medical Social Workers, MSW students, MFTs, and psychotherapists. Student pricing is available for up to 10 students; a current student ID is required.
CEUs are available for MSWs, MFTs, RNs, and Chaplains; cost is included in the workshop charge. Parking is free.
